Exclamation Who has an '04 AccessPORT in noVA?

I need to borrow your init connector and your connecting cable for about a half hour.

I received my AccessPORT today, and upon attempting to initialize it with my WRX I get a "vehicle low voltage" error. Cobb says it might be a problem with my init connector or the connecting cable. If anyone would be willing to let me use theirs for a little while, I would be very appreciative. I'm in western PA now, but I'll be back in noVA some time Sunday evening. Thanks in advance.

I got the same error the other day when just trying to switch base maps. I figured it was because my car sat over the weekend and forgot about it. Since you are only testing the connector, any AccessPort cable should work.

Did yours eventually work?

Cobb says that it could be the cable or the init connector. It looks like the '03 and '04 init connectors are the same, while the '02 is different. My friend is coming over with his multimeter tomorrow to see if we can pin down a bad wire or bad connection.

If that doesn't work I'll see what I can track down in noVA this week.

No it didn't and I haven't tried it again. I just wanted to switch base maps because I was bored and wanted to front with the AccessPort. I tried, it didn't work, so I put in back in the garage where it has been hiding like a Vampire since I bought the darn thing. I may play with it today to see if the problem is still there.

Ron,

I fixed the problem. The wires in the init connector just weren't making a connection on the crimps. A few minutes with the soldering iron and my AccessPORT works great.

Thanks for the update. I didn't get a chance to check mine out today, but I will keep this in mind if it does it again. Soldering is one thing I can do!
