Have a Nice Day? Not your daddy's clutch sudder, help! [long]

Ok, it rained out here, alot, sooo of course to Subaru drivers, that's basically like yelling RECESS in a grade school, we all head out side to play in the mud, water, etc. Well, that's what I did. Had a friend along, and drifted thru some turns here and there, all the while grinning like a school boy. We went to a cafe, and hung out for a little. After we left circa 3:00am, I decided to have some fun in the parking lot. It was wide open, and there was one car parked way off to the side. So, I pulled as close to the middle as I could, turned the wheel full lock, and floored it, slipping the clutch a tad. The car whipped around, but as I spun, I saw myself getting a little to close to the parked car(Jeep) for my comfort, so I let off. The car whipped around, and slid facing the direction I wanted (full 360), I put it in second, and gassed it. Now, the car didn't move, I wasn't sure if the wheels were just spinning or what. I checked my foot to make sure the clutch was up, and I thought it was. I hit the clutch, and let off the gas. Waited till the car stopped, then took off slowly. My friend and I noticed what smelled like burning rubber, and when I looked back, there was a nice cloud.

I dropped my friend off, and headed home. When I was pulling away, I noticed an intense shudder in first, and also when I shifted into second. Nothing in third or higher. It didn't go away, even when the car was warm. After about a day or so of driving, it stopped. I chalked it up to maybe a flat spot on the clutch, but how could that happen? Any ideas on what was going on with my car?

You should return it to the dealer and tell them you don't know how to drive, and then buy something like an old LTD.

They're only curbed if they haven't been replaced!

HAHA, now boys play nice. It sounds like you glazed the ***** out of your clutch. Dry nicely and see if it goes away. If not, but an ACT.

Mishigeh mishigas!

Probably just glazed. It took some life off of the clutch, but you shouldn't worry about it unless it comes back.

tip one...don't rest foot on clutch pedal.

I got yelled at about that at the track day this weekend.

i'm gonna agree on the glazed clutch...it should be under warranty..take it in. or spend the cash on a aftermarket clutch.

ya, it was subconsious, I had my foot over it because I had hit the clutch in to induce a slide AWAY from the jeep (it worked)
