Question Carbon purge canister check valve

In one of the latest SCC's on the turbo Impreza, they talk about installing a check valve to prevent boost from going into the carbon canister and creating a fuel stink in the car. I found where to install it (general area) but which hose DOES it REALLY go into, there are 2. Looking from the top, towards the back of the car, is it the right or left one? The right one being the one that goes to the top of the intake manifold near the TB. the other snales under the intake manifold an I think to the canister. I don't know what the "black box" there does and don't want to "check it" the wrong way. Can anybody help me out on this one? Thanks in advance.
