Talking Go Karting Recap?

that was a kick butt trip =)

other than getting a nasty blister...the trip was awesome (next time i'll remember to wear gloves...)

Shiv, Alex, Adrian, and Joe constantly kicked everyone's butt...and I think someone has the time sheets to prove it...

i'm going to put some pics up on my site later tonight...but I sent my pics to Alex...so he might put them up here earlier than me...

Paul

I probably won't get the pics on my site till late tonight...

Okay... karting was da bomb. We must do it again. This time, let's run a Mini Grand Prix. Instead of just hotlapping and going for best times, a Mini Grand Prix is set up like a real race. Qualifiying, standing start, semi finals, finals, etc,. You are assigned a new kart each run. There are even trophies awarded to he winners. Cost is around $30 and we need to reserve the track a week ahead of time. This is what Joel, Kit, I and others did a few months back. It was awesome and afforded weeks worth of good smack talk

Who's interested in the Mini Grand Prix? I think we need 15 people to make it happen.

I'm up for it!! After next weekend I've got nothing taking up my time, so anytime's good.

What's the time frame you're thinking of for this?

Yeah, that's about right.

Argh ... did anybody else come back with bruises on their spine and sides? Maybe I should have bought Kier's Sparco seat.

'course Shiv brought his own seat cushion! Talk about unfair advantage... Rematch!!

That wasn't my seat cushion.. they offered them there!!

Yep.. the inside of my left knee is hurtin'. But overall, I'm far less wrecked than I would have been from a day at Malibu Grand Prix. For some reason, MGP makes my ass and hips hurt for several days!!!

The MGP cars beat you up more because they generate more G force and the seats suck!

I'm in for a day at MGP. BTW, they do the same deal at the Inside Track, too! Where you reserve the track and you have qualifying, semi-finals, etc. and actually race for position, instead of best time.

I'd rather race wheel-to-wheel than Solo, I can do that at an autocross with my own car! :-)

Thumbs up

Let's do it!! Wish they were easier on the track rules though.... I almost got kick out yesterday for bumping because I was trying to get inside of someone!

But when there's traffic in a tight track like that, a little bump-n'grind is difficult to avoid...

Am I the only one who's ankles (in back) are sore? From the tie-rods? I get this everytime I go to that place... grr. I need longer legs.

Brucelee: 5 sucked. Too tail-happy. 8 was nice after they serviced it for the lost wheel, but then they had a big crash for way too many laps when I had that kart. Grr. I will beat you guys next time.

Cool

Hadn't read this post since it first went up.

i'm glad to hear everyone else was "injured" in some way...i woke up the next day feeling like someone had kicked me in the back 20 times.

I'm ready for more!! Next time EVERYONE puts their name next to a time. I have the time sheets...no one below 6th place claimed their time.

Just for the record, I put my name next to all my runs!

First race I was 4th fastest driving car #10.
Third race I was 2nd fastest driving car #17?

Hay Angus, post the results already! If you want I can scan em for you -- mail em to me if you have to...

Joe is eager to prove that even though the car might not be as fast as your fancy scoops and wings, the driver can hold his own, hehe.
