took three friends down to key west and hit 60,000 miles on the trip.
as a general, non-specfic review of the car so far i give it a and a only mods are cobb stage 1 suspension, drivetrain and brakes ... but it's still tons of fun to drive after 2+ years. only complaint i have is with some particulars with the transmission (hard to put in first, not vey easy to drive smoothly all the time, clutch shudder) .. but other than that, the car has been flawless probobly going to be upping the power soon, as im moving into the working world and will have some more disposable income. hooray. ![]()

I got into moderate modifications right away. My experience has
been very good. I have over 62,000 miles on my 02 WRX and modified it right after break in. I did not think the drivability was optimized. It seemed to need more torque and a smoother delivery. It has is a TXS UTEC stage 3 running 94 to 95 octane (93 boosted with a little Xylene containing MMT and GTA enhancer. The water misting for the IC core is located in the trunk. I am pleased with this moderate set-up. I was prepared to "pay to play," but I haven't had to yet. This is a very easy and (cheap) car to maintain, even with 3000 mile oil and filter changes using Mobil 1 (5w-30) ![]() |

I just turned 60 on my '02 as well. I would call all my mods stage 1, but looking to do turbo, injectors, and EM soon. The car has been great a few squeeks and rattles, but I am ultra anal about that stuff.
For those of you who have done the 60 service, did you upgrade to any synthetic tranny or dif fluid? If so, what did you use and what if any results have you had. Happy Motoring. |

I did have a squeek from the seat belt mechanism. Then I "discovered" I could move it up higher.... squeek gone. I emptied out the trunk and put miscellaneous stuff in the folds of cheap car cover as a lighweight "sound and clunk deadener" It also keeps packages from moving around in wheel well. The spare and jack have been replaced with flat-fix, a foot operated air pump, and a cell phone. Most of my driving is close to base (hills and valleys) and errands. My 02 Odyssey is the "long trip, multi-passenger, haul sheets" of plywood vehicle. |

Anyway, it's like having a new car - no more strange footwork. Anyone with a 2002 and clutch problems, take it to the dealer before the warranty expires. |
