Default Alpine CDA-9831 vs. CDA-9835

Car was broken into a couple days ago, insurance should be giving me $300 for my deck. Now I can get the 9831 for free basically OR I can pay $125 extra and get the 9835. Opinions, comments, etc? I can only go with Alpine because I already have an XM modulator through them.

Biggest difference about the 9835 is 10 extra watts per channel (running stock speakers though), the display, and better bass management for my subs.

I beleive that the 9835 requires you to wire an amp kit to the HU, which is how the V-Drive internal amp works. If u would want to avoid that, go with the 9831. I really didnt need or want those extras features offered in the 9835 over the 9831, so i decided to save the extra money and get a better component system.

I have a V-drive powered Alpine head-unit. A amo wiring kit is recommended, but I have never used one. It's not necessary. The extra 10 watts will make the car sound better. Get the 9835.

9833 is exactly the same hu than the 9835 except it has less display color possibilities.

what? i think you mean the 9831 and 9833, because the 9835 uses the biolite display..

he means the 9833 and 9835 are identical apart from the biolite display, which they are

I thought the 9835 was well worth the price difference, which is why I got it, and I haven't regretted my decision one bit since.

I agree... If you have the cash to spend on the 9833, it's worth the extra bill for the display of the 9835. I installed mine last Friday and I've been ever since.

I have 9835... I love my system with it, which is without Subs and amp.

HOWEVER, I can hardly see anything on the display on sunny days. Too much glares..

There MUST be a coating tapes or sprays or paints to absorb all the sunlight reflection.. *sigh*
