Default An early morning police experience.

So the cops around here are starting to crack down on modified exhausts. It sucks, but it's the law, and I hope they are nabbin lots'o'civics.

I put my Stromung SS Dual-tip on about a month and a half ago. Since then, I'd hadn't had a cop pull behind me.

This cop pulls behind me, and I'm thinking the worst. The light goes green and I'm first in line. The following went like so:

1st gear to 1500 rpms or 4 MPH.

2nd gear to 1500 rpms or 9 MPH.

3rd gear to 1500 rpms or 16 MPH.

4th gear to 1500 rpms or 24 MPH.

and finally, 5th gear to speed limit, 45 MPH.

I felt like a complete idiot shifting at 1500 RPM's, and I'm sure my clutch wasn't all too happy.

I was hoping his knowledge on Subaru vehicles was limited, so he thought it was a stock STi or a WRX. The Stromung Dual-Tip DOES look like a stock exhaust on those vehicles, that's basically why I bought it.

He proceeded to follow me for a couple blocks, until my turn came up, then he kept on going. Good times.

You should have revved it to 6k, dumped the clutch, and powershifted all the way through 5th gear. That would have made for a much better story.

Ah, yes, that's true. Apparently my knowledge on Subaru vehicles is limited.

IF he stopped you, you'd let him know who was boss by just asking him to wait until your girl finished up...

Apparently Anchorage police are taking car modifcations a lot more serious than most places.

There is talk of an undercover guy in a PSM WRX. Several people have been issued tickets or harassed by this guy. He rolls up in his WRX, asks about your mods, you show him, he writes the tickets.

I haven't seen it, and until I do, I think it's BS.
