Post MSD DIS 2

Does anyone know if the MSD DIS2 works on Subarus? I know they have coil packs but I don't know how they fire. I already have a DIS2 and want to know if I should keep it or not. I can't lose the 2 stage rev limter!!!!! Thanks, C

No problem, the DIS2 is an excellent product, and now you can even get a boost timing retard with an additional injector controller. Perfect for adding a turbo.

Big C.
MSD DIS -2 works great its owesome
BUT: it doesn't work on MY98 and newer imprezas
why? because on the newer imprezas the coil pack and ignitors are both packaged in the same large block on the intake, unlike the older than MY98 models that have the ignitors mounted on the fire wall and the coil packs seperated..
it doesn't work because the MSD DIS must be spliced into the wires between the ignitor and the coil-packs... that is impossible to do on the new integrated units..

good news MSD works on the 2002 though !

Question

So how can we control the ignition without throwing a check engine light?...ITC. Also is there an upgrade to the ignition on RS except for the Tec 2?

If anyone still wants to use an aftermarket Ignition, the HKS unit is an alternate option. It is similiarly priced and will work on '99+ models.

I believe Leonardo is using one on his '99.

do you have more info on this? I've heard the ignition's power was fine in stock form. Does this allow for tuning? I had a MSD 6A on my geo one time. It ran great, but was just an upgraded ignition.
