Post Can I run w/o GanzFlow or stock intake temporarily?

Got a quick question...I'm gonna get my GanzFlow intake painted SRP and I was wondering how safe it is to run without the GanzFlow and without the stock intake on? I'm imagining it would only be for a day or two. I've still got the stock box above the throttle body with a K&N in it. If need be I can go get my stock intake (50 miles away) and put it back on. Any advice?

no worries, its just the same but with out the pipe to the inlet of the stock box. Dont ever run without a filter. If you leave the stock box on with the filter in it you are fine, just sucking up hot air. Make sure to reset your ECU when you get the Ganz flow back on.

A coworker's husband owns a body shop and he has painted other things for me (bumper vents, moonroof deflector) and they turned out well. I'll post pics when I get them (also having belt covers done SRP) done!

I thought that the Ganzflow inlet was stainless steel??? NOT aluminum. I could be wrong though,

Nope, according to his website it's polished aluminum.

Quote:
We recently upgraded our materials from hand polished 2.5 inch intakes with minor blemishes to 3 inch "display" quality mirror-finish polished aluminum.
Dave (body shop guy) said he's gonna strip everything. I told him it was aluminum and he didn't mention it would be hard to do. I guess we'll see.

You can get it anodized for about $10-20 - or powdercoated - either would be better than painting it.

I do offer them in anodized red and blue for $15 more. I have to get the buy now buttons up someday...

Yeah, it would have been nice to get it powdercoated or anodized, but I'm too compulsive that I want everything to be exactly the same color. Like with the "blue" tubing/adapter that came with my GanzFlow. Separately, they were both blue, but put them near each other and you notice they are two different shades of blue. I'll end up replacing the blue tubing/adapter with black cause most of the time blacks looks about the same.
