Very well, needs some tweeking though. Transition to open loop fueling is rough.

Trey has now sent me a new Version 4 that irons out the hesitation between 3-4K RPM.

This was not due to what I thought was a transition to open loop fueling issue specifc to the MY04 fireware, but something more specific to what my car was looking for in another regard. He designs the MY04 mapping to switch in/out of closed loop fueling just like his MY02 ECU, while also making additional improvements to the MY02 closed loop function (secret ingredients?)

The acceleration on the new map is better, there is slight hesitation above 4K RPM, but the presence of greater torque makes it less noticeable. The hesitation could be due to a grounding issue (correctable via additional grounding). With a dynotune, I know Trey could make the acceleration smoother than a baby's a$$ increasing power, as well, but he is in AZ, I am in MA. <Other tuners seem willing to make occassional weekend trips to tune cars in different regions of the country (I know Phil, and Shiv have done this), Trey just recently made a trip to tune Subaru's car they ran in the One Lap race, but he has yet to do so for us on the East Coast. I even offered him a beach house on Cape Cod for a weekend, and he failed to respond. >

Oh, well, I am very pleased with the extra custom tuning via email he has done for me, and I am happy to spread the wealth on to you guys with similar set ups in your WRXs.

Whit

Update: I did the grounding mod and it did make a difference--acceleration is smoother; the car feels quicker, more responsive, fuel efficiency is better. There is still a slight hesitation in the 4-5K RPM range.

man, I've been trying to see if anyone has a custom map for a fmic and blitz sus intake. I've been running the 2.5 map so far but I'm pretty scared to even hammer my car so I keep it at fairly low rpms trying to stay away from high boost levels. Gosh I need to get rid of the accessport and get an ecutek as tuners are within driving distance

yup, I sold the AP and am using a custom tuned Unichip now. not quite as smooth, of course, but much more power! perhaps i'll get another AP once their TMIC releases and they finally have maps to accomodate. good luck
