Question prodrive vs BBS vs volk

Your opinions about which wheel you think is best for $2000/set?

The expensive prodrives >$500 are made by Rays, same people who make Volk. So they are practically one in the same.

BBS's are okay. Not really my style and I always picture them on a beamer or VW. Not so much on a Subaru.

yup its a style thing. but i do think bbs's are a bit lighter all around; i have the sti wheels which are really light so i dont know about the other models. but they generally seem to be not heavy per se.

strength... for 2000 a set, any of those manuf are going to be really strong. bbs are forged. and i know prodrive P1's are uber-strong but very heavy. their pff7 isnt forged but supposed to be as strong. volks are just the 5h1t. very nice stylish wheels.

if i had $2000 those 3 are the manuf i would be choosing from too.

I'd say Prodrive. The designs are very sporty, tasteful, and are generally not too much bling

They're pretty good quality also IMO...

Volks! Some of the lightest wheels on the market, and very strong cause they're forged. Most people are ultimately on a quest to be different from everyone else...... how many people do you know w/ Volks? Plus I am a JDM whore so I will always love them. I also picture BBS wheels on a german car.

any chance you are looking for a set of speedlines? I am selling 17x7 super turismo's.

I would have to say Volks. They are super light, lighter than BBS or prodrive and very strong because they are forged but you pay for it.

Volk definitely makes some nice, lightweight stuff. But you can always go for the Prodrive "GC" series, which are forged versions of the other ones. I'd probably buy the GC07 (Speedline) or GC06 (Volk, I believe.... they look like TE-37 wheels).

If you really want to spend money on something unique--and want to be watching your car like a hawk 24/7 --you could always go with pure STi rarities.

That third one you can get in a 16" which clears the USDM STi Brembos. They're all here: http://www.gruppe-s.com/Sti/sti_sub.htm ($5-700 apiece.)

(Max at Gruppe-S is a cool guy, too.)

IMO, the Volk Racing GOLD owns all. The more I see the BBS gold, the more they look bronze to me. The Prodrive gold is nice too, but they're not as bright as the Volks. Other than that, they are all great wheels made by very well respected companies. You cant really go wrong with either of the 3.

The Prodrives fit nicely on the car...

GC07's are marketed by Bridgestone (don't know who makes them)....

GC06's are made by Volk....

Speedline makes the GC07s.

OZ Racing makes the P1, and it's "GC" counterpart.

Volks will always have higher resale than any of the others. The quality of Volk is 2nd to none, even (very expensive) HREs. They are light, strong, and actually used on some GT cars. My Volks only took a couple grams each to balance.

Oh, I don't know. Volk may have higher resale than manufacturer wheels like Speedline or OZ, arguably, but Prodrive parts will always fetch a premium.

Jeez, I should be able to answer that considering I have GC010Es on my car, but I'm drawing a blank.

I was going to order Volks, but I couldnt wait for them. I was able to get the Prodrives and do not regret my choice. They are light, strong and dead sexy.

I do that all the time.

I just figured that since the design was basically the same, the same manufacturers provided the same wheels, just in their forged versions.

*shrug*

I ordered Gram Light 57pro and picked them up the next day.

Who says you have to wait to get Rays wheels?

Thanks for all the great replys,I think the Prodrive pff-7 has the best fitment for the 04 sti(offset and width) but are a little heavy(19lbs.), so I think I'll get a set of Volks either the SE 37 K's ,Ce 28 N's or the Te 37"s.
Anyone have any experiance with these?
Thanks! Subie on!!
