Post CE light on please help

ok i installed my N1 exhaust today and it was great. But my damn CE light came on any idea why? I reseted my ecu and when i started it the light just lit up again. Then after idleing for 15 min the car jus stalled. Also i cleaned my K&N air filter for my cold air intake. I think i might of oiled it too much and some oil got into the air box. Could that be the problem? Ir when i was installing the muffler could i have knocked an o2 sensor or soething? Please help that light is very annoying and bright. Thanx

CE could be anything, from a loose gas cap, to well, just about anything. Unless you changed or fiddled with the cats (your O2 sensors are by the cats) I doubt your exhaust would have anything to do with it. Then it might be a "cats below threshold" code, which is a minor problem. Go have the code pulled, most places charge you $30 bucks, it removes all the guessing and they reset it for you (assuming you can fix what the code reads).

ok so once you find out what the problem is by the code, then you can reset the ecu? Because i did reset the ecu and the light didnt go away. Also when i decelerate and go to idel my tach teeders from 800 rpm to 600rpm and it makes a everytime the tach bounces up the car shakes a little. What could it be its driving me crazy! So you cent get rid of the CE light until you get the code? Ok say i found out the code then what? im really confused and need a lot of help.

I had the same problem. It was the O2 sensor. I took it to the dealer and wasn't charged anything because it is under warranty.
I noticed problems, i.e slight hesitation a light idle roughness. the ironic thing is my CE light came on after I installed my Tannabe Racing medallion allthough the problem started before that.
My service rep said there was a problem with some of the O2 sensor put on some cars and they had replaced quite a few on 2000 and 2001 model subarus.
