Default Are there jobs out there like what the guys do at car and driver magazine?

I have been going to college for the past 2 years for web design and i love my wrx and decking it out. And I thought what do I really want to do? I love decking out my car and my favorite thing is test driving cars. So i'm asking is there a college out there or a job that you can these things?

you should probably stop "decking" your car out, unless you want your car to look like a boat.

anywho, there are two jobs off the top of my head that i can think of, car mag and proving ground driver.

chances of getting those jobs ...

Unless of course you work for HIN and they have plasma screens, multiple computer games and send you all over the country where you can ruin hotel rooms and drink on the company dime. I'm just saying.

80% of the time its not... and you start at the very bottom. Even getting a job at a rag like car and driver is going to be all in the connections you have.

Oh yeah. There is that. Though I don't have to write about it. I guess I could.

I've been offered the chance to do some freelance work for more than one car mag. Maybe I should persue that.

Honestly,

A good place to start is with a very reputable dealership. I cannot believe the amount of contacts I have now.

Just to name a few

SOA
SOE
SOJ
Prodrive
Autosport engineering
Road and Track
Super Street
Tons of photographers
Pro racers (Rally,NASCRAP,F1,Trans-Am)
City officials (OMG! How many!)
Police, Fire etc......

All from being at my job. Its kinda weird.

I did the next best thing and became a Valet. I get to 'test drive' some SWEET cars and get paid VERY good for it.
