Default New 2004 Baja Turbo.....

Hello group

I am about to bring home a almost new 2004 turbo Baja
4000 miles...........looks brand new......

What do you all think of these cars? I was blown away on how fast and comfortable it was.......

I blew away a Ford Lighting getting on the freeway with the salesman next to me........I got the jump on him and was ahead when it got down to one lane.......

He was embarrased..........and when he caught up he was about to flex his muscles but he saw the same CHP in rear mirror and toned it down........

I got off the freeway and took streets the rest of the way back......

Too much.........

What are the long term problems everybody has encountered if any?

I like the thread using the back as a keg cooler........we are having a block party on the 4th so I will try that out......

Thanks

Jim

I just love my Baja..if it was a person I would marry it. My boyfriend might be mad though heheh. I have yet to race someone and lose. I only ever lost one race in my life and that was in my WRX..it was a supercharged grand prix..I'm not proud but I had 4 other ppl in my car as well. I almost raced a WRX today but the person infront of me was to scared to go through the yellow light I have a serious problem with driving fast..I went 100mph today for the 1st time (in my baja that is)
Humm...I dunnno what took so long..?
And who ever does my keg idea first has to post a pic!

Like 04turbogurl, I just love my Baja. I love how responsive it is and how I can out accelerate most others on the road. Espically when getting onto the freeways and CA's incediably short onramps. I have the automatic with sport shift and just love it. The only issue that I have come had in the 5 months and 13000 miles is that my commute takes me up a steep incline, about 2500 feet in 10 miles. And on hot summer days, 80+, the Sportshift system wiggs out. I have had the dealier and they found that the error is that the transmission is overheating. I don't know if anyone has seen this as well, but it has stumped my dealier and they are trying to bring out the big guns of SOA to figher out the issue.

July 4th........unless I decide to see if it works before that.......

Lets say.......Saturday.......No........On Call...........maybe next week......

I hit 100 everyday.....i have a 85 rx7which is going to go supercharged later this year.........it is stock in appearance
and is about to be a v8 eater..

I just hope these engines last like my rx7 engine...I beat on it and beat on it........and all I do is change oil and adjust the belts.......

But I am sure all will change when the Baja comes in.....

Still playing tag with the dealer on the Baja..car has not moved.........

Did notice that the stone guards are missing and the rear cargo
tie down net was missing

Going backin on the 29th to re-negotiate.......giving me time to walk out and still come back in on the 30th........

Also noticed that it had the diff shield installed as well as the
Subaru tow hitch....

That hitch is real small......

I went back today and test drove the car again......

To see what its like in bumper to bumper traffic and after I had a long day at work......

And it was a total joy.......comfortable

But they wanted too much again so I walked out.....

I will try again tomorrow.......

Since the last time I went somebody stole the rear bed net and broke the stone fog light shields off.......

Great security......

Jim, You should almost make a trek to Subaru of Santa Cruz. They have no haggeling pricing and an 05 turbo in regal blue on the lot. It is probally more than you are wanting to spend, but they sell for just about 2 or 300 over invoice or something like that. They are non commission sales so no pressure. Just a thought.

I E-mailed them a link to a current sale that went through
