Where is it located? I might be interested in picking it up locally since the eBay auctions keep ending at like upwards of $160.

mike the one local is in edison. its red and brand new for 300. the ones that are on the ebay auction are a lil smaller but faster....you can pick em up at etown for 250 or 3 cant remember....major suckage is that the fake cops at etown wouldnt let anyone ride them around like they used to.

guess that so many people have em its causing issues....but ive found a few for sale, just about new. Dont wana disclose source just yet till mine is 100%. lol

Awesome that everyone is getting one.. i didn't realize how popular these pocket bikes are.. also i never realized how much fun they are!!! We definetly have to have a pocket bike meet.. and everyone needs to bring theres to the Colonial Park BBQ on the 18th.

One piece of advice to all new riders.. invest in gloves!!! I only had my bike for two days but with a lot of riding i've gotten blisters all over my hands.. I'm gonna pick up some gloves today!!

Sounds cool as s-!t! I want one. I placed a bid or two, or three. Question: what's a good way to carry it in the back of a WRX wagon? Tips? Should I put Subaru stickers on it, or make it a faux Suzuki or Yamaha or something like that? Glad I stumbled on this thread.

if will def. fit in ur wagon.

People at englishtown were puttin them in their backseats. one guy fit a few in the back of his truck even.

you can fold the handlebars in....

as for legality....They aren't. And the more popular they get, the more illegal.

I saw 4 trucks of these things sell in 2 days at e-town this weekend.

sold like hot cakes!

Pocket Bike Popularity Worries Cops

They're called 'pocket bikes,' and they've been big with teenagers on the West Coast for some time.

Now, that popularity is spreading to our area, and some say it's a trend that can be dangerous.

Tim Fleischer joins us from Stamford, Connecticut, with the story.

They are really hot, these little pocket bikes. This trend that began on the West Coast has become a growing trend here.

Derrick Polk has a Ninja and another one he rides around the streets of Stanford.

Derrick Polk, Pocket Bike Owner: "Got a lot of power. It has got a lot of power."

But now, police are concerned about the safety of pocket bike riders.

Capt. Thomas Wuennemann, Stamford Police Dept.: "It's called an unclassified vehicle. As long as it's under 50ccs, you do not need a motorcycle's license, but you need a Connecticut driver's license to operate one."

Size is the other concern. Compared to a full-size motorcycle, the pocket bike looks like a toy. And in traffic, a rider like Derrick's head is just barely visible over the hoods of cars. Drivers just may not see you.

Capt. Thomas Wuennemann: "You have to follow the rules of the road. But even if you are, because they are so small, it is a safety hazard. People can't see you. They don't have lights in most cases. Kids are driving them around at night, and they get some pretty good speeds on them."

Derrick Polk: "It is pretty safe, (if you) slow down around the corners and things. You got to respect it, man, you know? It is a little bike with a little power. It'll throw you."

Police are also finding out just how popular they are. They confiscated a truckload of pocket bikes, after charging a New Jersey man with not having a sales tax permit to sell them.

Capt. Thomas Wuennemann: "He came back, we caught him again. And he sold almost a whole truckful last time."
Tim Fleischer: "And he gets how much for each one?"
Capt. Thomas Wuennemann: "Between $400 and $600, depending on the model."

The police are stressing several elements. They want to make sure you do have a driver's license -- it's a must before driving one. You must have protective eyewear. And you must follow the rules of the road.
