Thumbs up MY98 + 550cc injectors + TEC2 = Fun

Thought I might mention that I have photos of my RS (a 98) with a set of Vishnu parallel fuel rails and 550cc fuel injectors controlled by Shiv's TEC2 setup. I'm the first MY98 with this setup, so I thought I'd pass it along.

After some initial teething pains, I'm now running OK. There are no drivability problems, but no extra power, either. Yet. I need to spend a lot more time advancing the ignition to take advantage of 93 octane and the even distribution of fuel to the cylinders that the new rails provide. It's fun fooling with the settings, but it takes time dialing in perfection. I wouldn't do it if I wasn't adding forced induction.

Rallispec should be installing a Minnam turbo for me on the 17th. They did all the work installing the TEC -- a flawless job, btw.

Very slick. I appreciate it, as another MY98 hoping to join the TecII/Turbo ranks in the next year.

Excellent, Richard! I'm not sure when I'll be stepping up to the TEC-II, but I know I will be eventually. Thanks for getting the fuel rail deal straightened out. After talking a little with RalliSpec, it sounds like they were happier with the setup on the MY98's than on the MY99's! Interesting, eh?

The MY98 map I'm creating is significantly different from the MY99 from which it was based. Once I get it running nicely, it'll make life easier for any '98 owner to plug in the map & go.

Darshu, get your TEC soon so we can swap maps. That goes for you too, Steve!

There's no difference in the TEC itself between model years. The only difference in performance you'll see between the model years comes from the higher compression of the MY00 (you can't boost it as much).
