I sprung for the MRT, because of all the exhaust setups I've seen this one of the only ones which has the potential to make more than token hp increases.

Unless you have to have something like the stock manifold Y location for your up and downpipe, equal-length runners are the way to go - check out back issues of Hotrod to see the current thought on this. I think the MRT is intelligently sized and and the straight-though, no kinks design is excellent.

The alternative would be a Borla header plus a high-flow cat pipe and a Rallispec catback, which is probably pretty tough to beat for a turbo exhaust setup. That would cost three times as much as the MRT and I would wager that on an NA car the MRT would post better dyno numbers.

I have the Borla catback/headers combination. After some breaking in and some frequent tightening of the header bolts, it sounds absolutely perfect. It doesn't sound deafening-more like how a sports car SHOULD sound. And the boxer "whirr" still makes itself evident.

My stock muffler hangers are torn up thanks to my sloppy uninstall of my 5Zigen catback, so I had to use some electrical tape. Borla's flanges are definitely the low point...they're basically bars which can slip and slide thru the hangers without something to keep them in place.

The only thing I would change is the tip, which is a 4" rolled angle-cut tip. It looks good, but I would cut out and inch from it. Otherwise, it's a very nice set.

Stromung cat-back for the "mellower" sound relative to the ScoobySport and nice dual-tip outlet.

I'd go with this because I think I'll stop there unless I get really power hungry. Don't think I can stomache the $$$ required for a set of headers, downpipe+high flow cat, mid pipe etc.

That HKS looks really nice. I like it.

I guess it depends on what all you want in an exhaust STi Boy? By your name I'd say go with the STi back box, but it is subtle, non-intrusive, but if you want loud, then get something else. I hope to pair up some headers with my exhaust providing a good lower and probablly louder sound, but it won't be matched by many other exhausts as the STi has a different sound and few have it (or want it it seems).

Just my $0.02 though,

Jon
