I have them. And I don't really care for them. They are loud, and wear funny. If I were to get new tires, they wouln't be Es100's.

I like my ES100's. I like my Azenis better but the ES100s are pretty nice.

I used them for an autoX skool and one event and they were fine for me. I'm a n00b @ autoX so take that to heart.

I got a set and they're OK. They are pretty sticky, but make a lot of noise. You really have to pump them up for the track. I find the feedback from them very numb.

my 2 cents

I like them on the neon. They do make a lot of squealing noises in the twisties, but they dont let go. Very good warning as to where the limit is, when the squealing gets hellaloud, I'm at the point where I should be backing off. I seem to get about 20K out of a set with some tail happy autoX alignment on the front driver. I'm still checking around for what to put on the wagon.

I have them in 215/45/17 and I like them (this is my first set of summer tires so everything is step above RS92)

They are loud though

i had them on stock wheels. they were pretty nice, not great in any one category, but ok in all. so for the price, it aint bad. but, again, for the price, i'd rather pick up the 451's, MX's, or azenis sports.

They are perhaps the best rain tire I've even own3d. Ok for auto Ok. I have had no wear probs after 13k.

For 110/ea. Not bad value IMHO.

Just got some today, and I like them over my Sumitomo HTRZ IIs. I don't find them noisy, actually more quiet than the Sumitomos were. Initial impression was that they turn in alot sharper and give better steering response than my last set.

for the value i dont think they are bad, one of the best wet tires and progressive break away on dry. They do wear fast, but thats probably due to canyon runs and track day.

I'd like to add that the hardcore BMWCCA guys love them. There are 3 guys (M3, M3LW and M5LW) that only run this tire.

If you get in a wet AutoX with your Suby with these, you will own the field.

partial list of tires better in the wet than the ES100:

Goodyear GS-D3
Bridgestone S03
Falken GRB FK-451 - cheaper than the ES100
Dunlop SP9000
Toyo T1S
Pirelli Pzero Nero
Michelin PS2
Michelin Pilot Sport
BFG KDW/KDW-2
Firestone SZ50 EP
Avon Tech M500 - cheaper than the ES100
Kumho KU19 - ditto
Bridgestone RE-750
(prices compared on 225/45x17 size)

all of this can be seen from tests on Tire Rack's site - such as those linked below - as well as Falken's European website.

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/uhp_nextGen_c.html

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/...ech_m500_c.jsp

IMHO, the ES100 is simply the most over-rated tire on this board. I can see no reason to own them or recommend them, with the possible exception that they are indeed better than the RE-92's in the rain...

if you mean the Tech M500's - competitors to the ES100's - I already linked to that test in my post

if you mean the R-DOT competition tire Avon Tech R - still waiting on a test. but Luke has driven them and posted that they are very, very good

For the same price, I am happier with the Falken FK-451's.

My bad. I didn't bother to check the links. I heard Tire Rack was meaning to do a review but didn't know they had it up already.

Nice. But I'm saying the ES100 is a great rain tire. I have found myself often on the top of the field with this tire. As noted in the other 500 posts about this tire, it's good value .

Michelin Pilot Sports/Toyo's better be a good rain tire for how much they cost.

maybe you are the better driver then. could you honestly attribute your success to just tires, albeit a very important factor.

I can say after driving on my friend's STI rims and tires (Bridgestone RE070's) this weekend at autox, the ES100's are junk in comparison. As a daily driver they work fine, but as a performance tire they are not the best.
