Default Best Tire and size for a 16" x 7" rim.

I am building a V3 Sti.
The car came with 205/50/16" tires and 16"x 7" Rims.
If the wheel wells are rolled what would be the max tire size for this Rim? The offset is 50.
Thanks,Randy

Is that the tire size that was supposed to be on that car, or just what someone put on that rim?

...a 215/45 or a 225/50 or a 225/45 should fit the car and that wheel.

That is the tire that was on the car when it got here from Japan. The car is a 1996 so I would think the tires and rims have been replaced.THe wheels are,
EURO SPORT
Gelassene Seldstbehauptung
zuverlassige Prasenz

Made in Japan

Don't know how remember this name?
Maye they are a good wheelconfused:
Thanks for your input!!!

205/50/16 was the OEM tire for that car in Japan.

You can fit 225's no problem. I wouldn't go any wider.

Very happy with mine - true they are a bit noisy but i find stability a bit better due to "lowering" by 1/2 inch (tires are 1" shorter).

I'd think again....there are several tires in that price range that are MUCH better...

Kumho MX's and Falken fk451's come to mind...and the T1-S is a little more.

Default another option

If you can find a set ... Firestone SZ 50 EP .... a very good summer tire ... would be an excellent choice and 225.50.16 should be indentical in diameter to stock 205.55.16 so your speedometer readings should still be accurate ...

iirc you can have a new set of 225/50/16 in kuhmo 712's or sumitomo htr+ for a little over 300 bux shipped via tirerack or tires.com

the price diff between 225/50/16 vs 225/45/16 sucks so much....
