Post Anybody figured out that rattle?

Has anyone dicovered what that thing rattling in the dash is? From what I read, it seems that anyone with an aftermarket exaust (stromung) gets it.Annoying!

I've been wondering that myself. I thought it was my cell phone in the glove...but it wasn't that.

Why does the RS rattle so damn much? Poor assembly quality or what? Someone should file a complaint on the Carpeting and the Exterior Paint also. Both SUCK!

speaking of which, I was reading problems reported on cars... out of.. i believe 260 cars, our was 180ish. WOw.

Don

P.S. I heard a front strut bar removes dash rattles/squeaks. I have none, as of yet, BUT I have this really annoying muffler rattle every time I turn on the car. It lasts until the car warms up. *Shrug*. I do'nt care, i'm buying an Apex N1 soon.

Wistful-

I had the same exhaust rattle. Mine was a resonator in the muffler that was broken loose. Apparently, there was a shipment of the mufflers that was dropped, breaking many, which was not discovered until they were bought(Or so my dealer says) Mine was replaced for free.

I've got a rattle that seems like it's coming from the driver's side door.

My exhaust resonates so I expected it. Doesn't bother me.... just lets me know the exhaust is working!! hehe

I have that damn driver side door rattle too. Its 10 times worse when the window is down. Any clues on how to fix it? (besides taking it back to the dealer).

Something in my dash rattles too ever since i put a intake under my scoop and i'm trying to figure it out i think it might be a screw or something came unloose from the dash and is bouncing around cause it didn't do it till 3 or 4 days after i put the intake on.

This may have just been a fluke with my car, but when I had it delivered, my passenger door had a buzzing sound in it when I was playing music with low bass or running over rough roads.

I took it back the dealership and they said the tweeter kit hadn't been properly tightened at the factory.

The only rattle I had was the hood scoop, I guess they didn't tighten it enough at the factory. Rattled around like crazy at idle until I had it fixed.

My legacy doesn't have any rattles. I think the RS is intended for a different audience. The build quality is like comparing an Acura to a Honda.

It is the CD face plate. I have that problem too, it sounds like it is coming from the dash or passenger door speaker, but put your finger on the CD face plate. I.E. the little plastic cover where it tells you what song your on and whola.. it stops. I working on a good fix for this besides other ideas. I'll get back to everyone.

Thanks.

ever since I got my Stromung I have a rattle in my dash also. It drives me nuts. I think it's coming from my radio face plate. Not to sure. If anyone finds out what it is, let me know, I'd pay money to have the rattle go away

I got the rattle too. I have the SS dual tip and mid pipe. I found out that my cobb short shifter rattles like crazy, when the exhust is making the most noise level. You can try a test to see if it is the same for you guys. When you hear the rattle, hold down the shifter and see if it goes away. I'm not sure if bushing etc will make it stop rattling, if anyone knows let me know.

I have had 4 rattles so far.

1) The dash plate that covers the BOTTOM of the steering column. Started after I had been goofing off on gravel roads. Fixed by tightening the screws that hold it in.

2) The gauge pack! Started after getting a dual-tip stromung. Fixed by using rattle-fixing rubber stuff under the panel and tightening the screws more.

3) Something I have not pin-pointed yet but I believe it is the panel around the center air-vents.

4) Something near the sunroof motor. It goes away when I push up on or around the dome light.
