my baja (15,000 miles) gets 21 miles average with my heavy foot. Its automatic average rpms are 3,500 to rev limiter. My mother's soft foot gets about 23 miles.

I average about 320 miles per tank, with a combination of city and highway driving. I've gotten near 400 with nothing but highway.

Cool Mileage

I'm new to this forum, and just noticed this thread.

I just returned from a long road trip and averaged 30.002 mpg with my 03 Baja Sport with automatic transmission. I have 9000 miles on it now. This included being in 300 miles of moderate rain, running a/c and having a moderate load of 4 passengers and luggage for the last half of the trip.

If I recall correctly my low has been about 22 mpg ( middle of January with loads of snow and temps as low as -20 F) and my high was 30.8 mpg (last trip). Since the snow finally melted I have been consistently running 26 mpg or better.

One thing that may have helped is that I have the cross bars off of the roof rack. It also helps reduce wind noise.

I have an 03 5sp, and I avg about 22 in the city. On the highway I get about 25. If you cover that bed up, the mpg will probably improve. And when I get the money I will. LOL
TNBaja....the TN wouldn't stand for Tennessee would it? I am still hunting the other baja owner in Memphis down. It's the same color as mine, just so we get our stories straight, should one of us do something. LOL

Default correction for my previous post

I went back and checked my low mileage. It was 20.5 mpg not the 22 mpg. This was in January with -20 F temperatures. My high mileage of 30 mpg still stands.

However, this thread got my curiousity up so I put all refueling information into a spreadsheet. Lifetime average over 10,000 miles is 25.39 mpg.
