I'm looking at 225/50/16 on 00/01 RS wheels on a stock height 02 WRX wagon. Sedan rear sway, and I'd like to go with some neg. camber up front-as the only suspension work. The stock WRX wheels and treadwear 340 tires that came on my car when I got it will work fine for road trips, but on the twisty backroads I travel daily they squeal like mad, and dont grip.
Anyone with basically stock suspension setups run any of these tires? The few reviews on tirerack for each one are very mixed, and on cars that arent AWD. I'm not looking to spend more than about 100 per tire so these are pretty much my only 3 choices. Also kinda thinking about the Azenis Sport, but in the neon community those tires are only great in dry. In the wet they are mediocre after half the tire's life. Thanks in advance. Erik

I run the MXs and love them. I have ran all three but on a 911 not the Rex. The MXs are the best tire hands down. The 8000 are good and the 901 suck this was on the track not the street. They were the same size we use 225/50/16.

I'd pick the MX's over any of the others.

Although since you live in the rainy Pacific Northwest, you may want to consider Uncle Scotty's recommendations in this thread: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...hreadid=593575 I'm a big fan of the Falken FK-451 myself, but my best friend lives upriver from you in Camas and he put Toyo T1S's on his Boxster - they're excellent also... |
