Default Duty and Brokerage Fees???????

I dont get how this works. I know USPS has some of the lowest fees for brokerage. But how does this work, I did the group buy on the engine and tranny mounts. The first shipment came in via USPS so I picked it up at the a postal outlet. I had to pay GST and their brokerage fees for the package. They only sent me 8 sets and still owed me one more. So the 9th set just came in. Now it says airmail on the package and has a US postal fee on it as well. But I had to pick this one up at Purolator and their was no brokerage fees or GST. I didnt have to pay a thing.

So how does that work????

Lance,

You will receive a bill in the mail from PBB (Peace bridge brokerage) in a few weeks. The parts were sent via Express mail.
What this means is the parts did go out via USPS in the US and once they enterd Canada Purolator took over. They contract their brokerage through PBB.
I wouldn't worry too much yet as on my last PBB bill there was no duty (6%) All I had to pay was the GST and about 50 cents worth of brokerage fees....go figure.

Let us know how it goes.

Aaron
