I dunno. My problem with accelerating, is that my car just doesn't want to stop accelerating. It keeps on going through the gears till I max out in fifth. *shrug* I think it might have something to do with too much lead in my feet. =)

I would recommend using 87 octane gas. I used to use 92, but I now run 87 because I heard that using 92 decreases performance because it doesn't fire as fast or something like that. I never really noticed anything you describe when I had 92.

But I'd say it's worth a try.

Have a Nice Day? Problems when accelerating

I noticed today when I was driving to work that when i was in first gear and accelerating to second, my car seemed to like sputter and miss. It only happened for a few seconds, but I am kind of worried. The revs got up to about 5000-5500 rpm and it started doing that funky thing. Any ideas what it could be? Please help

What kind of gas do you use? How much was in the tank? Was it pinging at all?

Always start with the easiest questions.

More than 3/4 tank of 92 octane with no pinging at all...I was worried about the MAF sensor. I have a Weapon R pipe connected to the stock air box by silicone hose, with a K&N filter. I hope this thing ain't broken.
