Post SAFC setting for 00RS

Hello, since no one makes a Air/Fuel Gauge, I have decided to hook up my DVOM on to my O2 sensor. Should be nice with back light from my meter. :P Anyways I remember seeing that people with regular o2 set their SAFC to about .8 volts so that is about 80% of 1 volts, which is a rich setting. Is this good? And 80% of 5 volts is about 4 volts is this good for our wide band o2 sensor?

Thanks!

I am not using O2 sensor voltages right now, but I had just looked at the Bosche fuel injection book tonight at JC Sports - the best O2 sensor voltage for max power = 0.9 and for max fuel economy is 1.05

O2 sensor voltage of 0.9 = A/F ratio of 13.2:1 for rich and max power.

O2 sensor voltage of 1.05 = approx 15.5:1 for lean and max fuel economy (this lean A/F number was not as important to me tonight, so from memory I am close but not sure if it is right. I know the 1.05 O2V is right).

Is this voltage reading for 0-1 volt o2 sensor or 0-5 volt o2 sensor? If it is 0-1 volts how did you get 1.05 volts and if it was 0-5 that is very lean. Thanks for your research.

Larry if you have seen the curve in the Bosch literature; could you get a copy and post it? I would greatly appreciate it. Or let me know what the Bosch part number is and I can hunt down the book, myself.

Thanks

Talking

The book belongs to "Al" who does work for JC Sports. He is there several times a week (and was there everytime I visit). I would email or PM them to see if they can get a copy of the table or at least the IBSN number of the book, or I will ask next time I am there.

I assume this is a 0-1V O2 sensor, and don't know how they get 1.05 = 15.5:1 A/F ratio, but it was right there in the book, two different graphs depicting this, and the numbers I quoted were on the x-axis...
