Default 225's and 16" stockers

I know this can be done doing a 225/50 - 16 this isn't really the question. Is there any relatively cheap tires that have strong sidewalls in this size so I don't have to worry about rolling the tire. I was looking at the Kumho ecsta Supra 712 in this size b/c they are pretty cheap from the rack. Are a lot of people running this setup. I will probably order this week or next so any help would be appreciated.

712's suck. Any 225 tire you put on the stock WRX rim is going to bubble. The widest I'd go is 215, but I'd look into picking up a cheap set of used wheels first (even if its a set of '98 - '01 2.5RS stock wheels which are .5" wider than WRX wheels and will accept 225 tires).

my recommendation:
225/50x16 Falken GRB FK-451 max performance tire
- stiff sidewall, great wet or dry
- $81 each from Edge Racing
- they do not suck

Default rs rims

I have 01 RS rims 16 x 7 with 225/50/16 GY F1 gs-d3. these tires fit very well with the wider rs rims and ride very well during 3/4 of the year. I put the stock rims with studless snows on for the winter.
