Default spare tyre well in 2.5 RS

Hello All!

I hoping someone may be able to help.

I am looking to purchase an RS impreza here in Australia.

The spare tyre is a space saver (guessing its the same everywhere). Has anyone tried to fit a normal standard 16 inch rim into the spot where the space saver usually sits?
Or will it not fit?

Odd question, i know, but hope someone can help

Thanks

I recall hearing that the stock diameter fits, but the width is too high for the well. It'll go into the well, but the trunk floorboard and carpet will stick up a bit more.

Maybe somebody here can confirm. Full size spare is a nice mod for long trips, rural travel, etc.

Well, I have a MY00 RS, not a new style, and I'm not sure which RS you're referring to... but in mine, yes the regular rim fits as far a s diameter, but since it's about double width of the space saver, it pretty much prevents the board and carpet from going in... you can put them in there, but I don't see the point.
Also, I have the 7" rim, as opposed to the new standard 6.5"... or was it 6.5" and 6"? Whatever, my rim is half an inch wider than the new ones...
