OMGHi2U just got told to get away from the office for a week...where to go on short notice?

i was just handed down a message from the higher ups that i need to take a week off to catch my proverbial breath (finally).

where's a semi-affordable/fun place to go right now? it's on such short notice that i'm gonna get ripped for leaving monday, but oh well...i was thinking vegas if my girlfriend can get some time off somehow - it'd be about $1200 for a week w/hotel & airfare. any other ideas? $1200 is about the upper limit...going more for the city slicker form of entertainment, no camping trips.

they'd have to hire 3 people to replace me, and all the knowledge important to the inner workings of the department is locked safely within my brain. they could, but i doubt it.

check out usairways site. they always run last minute specials. i would plan the trip around the airfare due to your cost restrictions, unless you want to drive somewhere (Nawlins?).

I would sabotage everything so that if you are not back in a week, it all goes haywire.

Also, cackle ominously when you walk out of your office. If you don't have a mustache, grow one quick so you can stroke it as you walk out, all evil and nefarious- like.

Gcbinc wishes someone would kick him out of the office.

my job is neigh impossible, and i've pretty much built the art side of the company. i'm here 15 hours a day and in on almost every meeting, so unless there's some kind of vast conspiracy going on behind my back, and they've found a floor manager, senior designer, and computer tech to replace me, i think i'm pretty safe. unless they want our art going out to customers (very conservative base) with a distinct middle eastern flavor...

and even if i am getting canned, i need to get out of town anyways. i haven't had a break in 2 years.

Word ^^

This exact same thing happened to me once (boss gave me a corp. credit card to get by on for a week) and when I got back I found out that the owner had closed a silent purchase of our gym and I had a new boss/owner to deal with upon my return...who was the biggest idiot I've ever met IRL.

I met Mrs. Janq during my time away which made up for the suckage that came afterward.
Have fun while you're off carousing.

American Airlines has cheap last-minute fares also...

I recommend PR...should be easy for you to get to.

Yesp...I was not kidding or embellishing, that 'Method & Redman' show is absolute tripe.
Whoever green lighted it should be fired.

Meanwhile ESPN cancels an excellent show like 'The Playmakers' and nobody comes in to pick it up even though it was hugely popular with just one season.
It makes zero sense.

If I recall, the NFL didn't like that one too well. Maybe they voiced their opinion to ESPN.
