$350 out the door?! From Discount?! (expletive) I paid $150 more for the (expletive) ES100s.

How did you do it? What size did you get?

This sux. When I wanted to order from them they were out of stock. I got the azenis sports instead. Still have insane grip.

Please post how you like the 451's.

I have them on my car,,, glad that I chose them over es100.
It is less expensive but suprior in every category when comparing to es100. Some ppl like the brand name effect, hence chose yokohama. I would never buy anythings buy just looking at brand name. Only if it is Advan

Someone has posted an european magazine article before and 451 is even faster than Pilot Sport 2 on the track. Not that the extra 0.xx sec would matter to me, but fk451 has a much stiffer sidewall than most tires, thus excellent steering feel.

With its wet capabilities, it is like a T1S but with much better steering feel and less roll over and much less expensive. Some will say the 451 is heavy, but I bet you won't feel it anyways, and weight is the price for stiff sidewall. RE070 and A048 are heavy too.

The only shortcoming that I found is the blocks are too small and too many diagonal lines on its tread patten (channel water, explain why it is excellent on wet), thus when taking it to the track, there are rubber falling off from the tread and the edge. But well, it is a street tire anyways, I would probably try the MX or Azenis next, since I go to tracks a few times a year, and willing to sacrify some wet traction.

But it doesn't mean 451 sucks on the track, a veteran solo1 guy who have driven my car on the track was so suprise with the stickness of my tires, being that it is a street tire. (He even runs RA1 on the street with his gutted interior 350whp 240sx)

Yeah, It is a crazy deal! I was going to buy from www.splittingimagez.com who has great prices and are local Socal, but they were out of stock.

I have dealt with Discout Tire before quite a bit and would prefer to stay with them, so I called and spoke to Randy, the store manager. He quoted me $406 out the door with an alignment, but I don't want to spend more than $350. He said "Done!". That is $350 with alignment!

I called about a deal for 225/45/17 for a friend, and I was quoted $450 out the door with alignment!

I will speak with him about a Nasioc discount today...

I've been running them all summer, and have been much better overall than my previous set of ES-100's. MUCH LESS tramlining than the ES-100's of the same size.

Wow. I tried negotiating with 3 discount tires trying to get a similar price to Tire Rack before I just gave up... and yours just gave you 451s for $350 like that?

edit: what size tire?

I paid $350 for my FK451s in 225/45/17. Check out Motoring Industry in City of Industry. Only thing is you gotta pay them $50 for the mounting and balancing. So total was $400.

Not quite as grippy as my Azenis I had on before, but a pretty good. Should last a bit longer than the Azenis as well.

This was $350 mounted, tax, disposal, balanced, plus alignment, out the door.

225/45/17 is $450 as above plus alignment. Out the door!

I got them on today, will post my impressions soon...

They look awesome!

Just ordered a set of these (backordered two weeks) in 18's. 225/40/18's are going to cost me $562 from Sears with mount and balance. Not to bad I suppose since they matched Edge Racing's online price of $125/tire. Would have cost me $550 by the time you figure in shipping, so I'm happy. Just can't believe that Sears matched it considering their first quote was over $750.

Sweet! Yeah, places make a killing on tires. The internet really puts the squeeze on them I guess. At least if you have a problem it will be easier to take care of at a local place.

I am not pushing these tires yet, I only have maybe 150 miles on them.

My impressions right now are good though. Turn in is quick, right now. It surprised me coming from RE92's. I have taken some corners at re92 speeds without a squeal. They are QUIET! There is no tramlining on grooved LA freeways. The sidewall feels stiff to me, but again, I just came off RE92's and have not pushed too hard.

Very nice!

Anyone have info on Motoring Industry? I can't find their number or anything.

Poison, which Discount Tire did you go to? Did you ever speak to them about a NASIOC discount?

Edit: Nevermind Poison, I found your post on the Santa Monica Discount Tire Deal

You got a great deal there. When I was looking for tires they told me (Disc. Tire) that they'll "hook me up" for $745 for 4- 225/40/18 Kumhos. At first I thought that they are giving me a tire/wheel package and told them that I only need the tires to which they replied:
"Sir, that price is for the tires only. Mounted, balanced and with our great warranty program"
At that time I found it most appropriate to hang up the phone before I have said something offensive.

Thumbs up

I second the recommendation for the South El Monte shop. I've dealt with Tony several times over the last couple years and he's got great prices.

You don't have to ask for Tony, anyone there will give you the same great prices.

They've keep a lot (maybe all sizes?) of Azenis in stock for anyone who's buying those. Not many places stock them that I know of.
