Talking new here - ozzbros bed cover?

Hello all!

My first posting - I finally bought my blue baja sport july 4th! had to go down to san diego to get, was the last blue in CA - but it was worth it, I love this car. Had been stalking these forums for a while doing baja research and wanted to say 'thanks' for all the wonderful info/FAQ on the baja. really made the decision easy/helpful.

anyway, just wanted to know if anyone has the ozzbros tonneau bed cover? Is it any good? It says it's water resistant, not necessarily waterproof. I want to get a bed cover, but am leaning towards a hard cover next year (when i've saved some money).

also - if anyone wants to get a subaru and lives in So. Cal, you should go to Carlsbad, CA (san diego). I had a no hassle/haggle deal and the dealers are really nice and accomodating. no fuss about my price or being sneaky, unlike some dealers up north (ahem, oakland *cough*).

thanks! Actually, I was originally going to get the red one you have. I changed my mind last minute - and had to go to san diego to get it since that was the last one. but, I think the red looks pretty good too

Yeah i wanted the blue, but i wanted to see it in person. So since the blue was out,i almost got the Monterey silver. They would have to order it also, they had the red one on the lot and i knew i liked it since that was the color of my first one.So i thought about it over the weekend and said the hell with it just get the red.I was like a kid in a candy store,i couldn't make up my mind on what color to get.I liked them all.

hehe! yeah, they're all good!! you're right though, it's best to see it in person - the colors on the subaru website do not give the colors justice!! I actually never saw a blue baja until I saw turbogirl's pics - and then I knew I wanted it. Otherwise, the only other bajas I actually saw were a red, white, and black. There aren't enough quality pictures out there to give an idea of what the color really looks like.

Incidentally - why did you get another baja? did you just want the turbo version? I testdrove the turbo - super fun to drive! but, I decided on the sport to save money/gas/mileage. still, turbo is way fun!

Turbogirl - if you're out there - thanks for the pics! totally made it easy to pick my color w/out actually seeing the car first, hehe!

I wanted the Turbo, and wanted to trade in my stick for an auto.If they come out with a 2nd generation Baja,i'll be getting one of them.My current Baja will stay in the family,as my nephew can't wait for me to get another so he can buy mine.

Yellow w/ OzzBros cover

Thumbs up OzzBros cover

I just got mine today, very simple installation. It will ceratinly keep stuff in the bed much drier. But I doubt that it would keep it as dry as the hard fiberglass cover. Very simple design, but it is also very simple to remove.
Also locks shut, more secure that the "soft" cover.
Question, any fans of the soft cover out there? We thought about one,but heard they cracked in cold weather and sagged in the heat? The fiberglass ones look great, but I was scared off by the high price ,and they don't appeat to be easy to remove or store without scratching when they are removed. I have pics of mine posted on TheSubaruBaja yahoo group.

The soft cover works fine. Mine had a metal bow to keep it tight in the summer. The cold makes it hard to open and close, the plastic lip gets real hard to bend. Like the others it is not waterproof but close enough.
