My OBS gets crap mileage in the city with no mods.

But it's probably because my commute is only 11 miles but takes 35 minutes to an hour!

I'm hoping my WRX gets better mileage because the engine is smaller and at those speeds I probably won't even activate the turbo. (thank god for weekends, when I can use it!)

I've been getting about 220-240/tank at about 17mpg for the past 4-5 months. My intake is the culprit... lots more air = lots more gas = lots less mileage. I'm wondering whether the turbo will make my mileage better or worse... lol

My 1997 L sucks on gas as well, a friend of mine put a Kartboy MAF Filter mount and K&N cone filter and went up about 6mpg!!!! So I'll try that and tell you how it turns out.

I get low gas mileage all the time, and I look at it like this.

Due to my double clutching, hard launches, and all that other good stuff I probably use an extra 10.00 a week. But I view it as entertainment so I ask myself if I got 10.00 worth of entertainment.

It could also be the way you measure MPG. Miles per tank is an useless masurement unless you run the tank dry. We all know how off the gas guage is. Try calculating your MPG over a month or two, then see what happens.

Generally though, in the cooler months (ie winter) your car will idle at a higher speed, as well, longer periods for warm-up also consumes more fuel. Over these past few months of cold, my fuel efficiency has dropped vs. my fuel efficiency during the spring/summer time. I think a part of it has to do w/ my heavy right foot! Drifting is sooooo fun!

My '01 rs is a daily commuter of 74 miles which is broken up between bumper to bumper and 70+mph speed. (it takes about 1 hour) My mpg avg is between 19&23mpg, but i have only 5,000 miles on it without any engine mods. I've always paid strict attention to mpg.
