Hi,

Anyone tried the genuine Subaru performance exhaust for the 2.5RS?

Is it good?

Thanks.

I have it, and I love it. Nice growl, not too loud, and a bit of performance improvement to boot.

All stainless, midpipe doesn't have resonator like stock one. I have some pics if you want, email me. Sorry, no sound sample yet.

Thanks.

I have it. It should have been the stock one. It sounds better. I didn't notice any performance change, but then I had already pulled off my intake snorkus and replaced the air filter with a K&N drop-in. (I noticed the change with both of those). It just makes it sound more like a sports car then a sewing machine. Personally, I could have done without the 4" exhaust tip, but it's OK.

I think the tip is only 3". I had it, it is nice...not to loud. But i need the loudness If you want, I have the SOA muffler (not the mid pipe) for sale fairly cheap.
If you want loud, pick up the Apex N1, or Stroumng

Maybe I'm thinking there's a bit of improvement because I'm feeling the lesser amount of backpressure. I still have all of the factory intake plumbing with a K&N panel filter.

And yes, it's better than stock. It should've been the stock exhaust. If nothing else, the midpipe and cannister are stainless steel, unlike the stock one.

I have the muffler on my 2001 RS and I like the sound a lot. Not too loud like those hondas with a tin can hanging off the back. I noticed a little bit more power but I think it needs a 2 1/4 inch mid-pipe since it is only 1 7/8. I am kind of dissapointed because I could have got the same muffler of the net for 375$ and you do not have pay for the mid-pipe. It was 500$ for both from subaru. I think I might get a muffler shop to make me a 2 1/4 mid.

I just got one yesterday. Nice sound (not obnoxious at all) and somewhat of an increase in power.
