Default Tried these Kumho's

Anyone out there tried out the kumho HP4 716 tires (not the ecstas)?

How was the tread wear and noise level on those?

Default Just got them

I just got a set to replace badly worn winter-only tires (get your alignment checked often).

I only have ~150 miles but I must say the noise level is down considerably.

I got them from the Tire Rack and my local tire shop didn't wince when he saw them. Despite a few opinions on TireRack.com the shop had no problems balancing. The red dots were lined up with the valve stem.

I'll update as the miles rack up.

Great thanks. I was looking at the tirerack as well. These tires are getting a lot of great feedback at such a low cost level. Seems like they are some of the best for the price. May I ask what shipping was like for the set?

My ancient RE92s are getting unbearably loud and unbalanced, so I know this next month of summer will wear them out.

Default Shipping

I paid $28 shipping (UPS) from their warehouse in DE to my front door, 15 mi north of Philly.

I just got a chance to drive through torrential rain today. The Kumhos were fine at 45mph.

I've had a set of 215/60-16s HP4 716s on my 2001 Forester for 25K now and they have been excellent as far as wear, noise, and comfort go. They are only about 1/2 worn out. They are really good in the rain. Dry traction and steering response could better but they aren't bad. If your using 205/60s then your steering and traction may be a little sharper due to the shorter sidewall.

Bottom line for me is that they are hard to beat for the money. I've been happy with the Kumhos on my cars so the next set of tires I'm getting for my 2000 OBS with WRX wheels will be some of the new Ecsta ASX.

Great info thank you both. Looks like the first of the month I will order a set. Now I just need to decide on the dimensions.
