compare and contrast rates there

we stayed at the tropicana last time - dirt cheap and the only reason we were in there was to pass out. crappy hotel & casino.

get on the vegas.com mailing list (they don't spam ya at all). you'll find some GREAT deals.

NYNY is great, you literally never need to leave the hotel. I've stayed at The Mirage (nice) and at a Suite in Ceasers (amazing). Good luck and have fun.

this is just my opinion, when you go to Vegas you really aren't looking for the nicest hotels so to speak. I mean you don't plan on spending your days and nights there, it's only for sleeping and sexing. I went with a bunch of friends, guys and gals, and we wond up staying in the Residence Inn, it is a long term apartment type place, very nice, and we all slept in there for about 100 bucks a night or so. We went the economy cheap way ya know, just to save more money for other great things! Honestly I can't remember the names of clubs or even casinos, it was really a blur, sorry I can't help much.

the only 'club' we went to was the ghostbar at the top of the palms hotel. $10 cover, $8 dollar drinks, hordes of scenesters wanting to be seen, but a great view from the 55th floor of the entire strip.

you can walk the streets with open containers of alcohol!

visit the hard rock - cool card tables, great memorabilia, younger, hotter scene. we ate at the pink taco restaurant there. decent food - the bar may be cool at night?

Default Reasons to stay at the Hard Rock

I've been to Vegas a bunch of times and I recommend the Hard Rock, here are a few reasons why.

1) Its the best pool in Vegas
2) The pool has a beach in it
3) Vegas strippers get free passes to the pool at the hard rock, which means there is much eye candy!
4) They have 5$, tables at the Hard Rock, which is near impossible to find on the new strip.
5) Its just one block from the new strip
6) There is a much younger crowd there, do you wanna hang out with a bunch of old men, or hook up with some bachelorette party tail?
7) Yes, you can gamble in the pool!
8) It targets a younger so its much more reasonably priced, than most of the places on the new strip.

The Luxor has a great night club in it, I recommend you check that out too.

MGM grand has a great brakfast/lunch buffet, includes free mimosas.

Dont bother with the Bellagio unless you have f-you money, and feel like throwing it around.

An you absolutely must go to the crazy horse II. Seriously, you will thank me for this advice.

Be sure to check room prices on the Casino?Hotel site (not just on expedia, etc). You may get the best price that way.

We stayed at the Tropicana, ( i know its due for demolition in the next year or so) It was nice and affordable. Its and older hotel though across from MGM and NYNY and the pyarmid hotel.

While we were there we saw the blue man group, rented a dodge vipre for $500 for 8 hours (maybe more time, dont rember) and did the shoot em in the air ride at the top Stratosphere at night. (i highly reccomend the night time part) Plan to walk a lot. We walked the entire strip in about 4 days, and still missed a lot.

Remeber that when playing slots or any other type gambleing you get free drinks.. Set a certain amount for gambling specificly and dont go over it. I took 75 dollars for the nickle slots, and that was it. but our vacation cost us around 3K.

If you are taking a signifigant other, i highly recomend going to the Hoover dam and taking the boat ride at the Paris Hotel. (its romantic) Also watch the Bellagios water canon show from teh Eiffal Tower.

If your a star trek fan, the exhibit, (dont remember what hotel its in) is kinda expensive, and somewhat neat.. but i am not sure its worth the 24 dollar per person price tag.

If you make it down a VERY long ways away and at the end of the day your feet are tired, trust me, spend the couple bucks to take a cab. We didnt do this till our last day there, but our feet were plum worn out by the time we left. We were up at 8am everyday, and out till 12 am everynight, walking around.

I stayed at treasure island last time I was there.

It was reasonably nice. Nothing special as far as room go though. Didnt spend much time at the hotel.

Going again in 2 weeks. Staying at a place called the Tuscany. block or so off the strip in the center.

You cant really go wrong with any of the newer bigger hotels... but you might pay too much.

well i just went to a bach party in vegas...

we got decent rates at mgm...but id agree that if you want a party hotel...hard rock would be your place. especially in the summer...the pool there is where its at.

as for bars, ghostbar (palms), light (bellagio) are all great to go to...it just depends on what kind of scene your into.

if your into after hrs...id highly recommend drais at barbary coast.

i dont really like any of the buffets...since im not into the eating a **** load of mediocre food. id rather just have a simple good meal.
so i cant really help on that end.

oh and make sure you drop by spearmint rhino. its one of the nicest 'clubs' there.

I've heard nothing but good things about NYNY, Luxor, and Hard Rock Hotel from coworkers who've been to Vegas a lot.
