Hi Guys,
Today I just bought a NEW Honda Civic. Not only that it is an AUTOMATIC. This is for my Wife.....it was this or a Toyota ECHO. Didn't have much choise. At least I still have my 2000 RS I love it even more after getting the Honda. After driving the Honda for a bit, then getting into my Suby, I realy appriciate at how much better our RS's are to any Honda. One things for sure.....Honda's (Stock) are as slow as snails in molasis. But for my wife it is perfect....plus can't beat the milage. She gets practical, I get WILD!!! And don't worry....this is one Honda that is not going to see one bit of Rice near it. I like to think that I have saved it from a future of bad taste, and worse judgement from some rice boy. See you around in either a Scooby or Honda. Laters Eddy L.

Heh, my g/f has a '98 Civic so I "feel your pain". Can't stand to drive it, there's no torque -- can't stand to ride in it, the seats really suck (they're mounted too low to the ground, in a lame attempt to accomodate six-footers). But when we get to the garage and have to choose a car, guess which one gets 5 more miles to the gallon... Though I hear the seats have improved in the 2000 model year.
You thought the Impreza's body panels were made of soft metal, it seems the entire chassis of that car is made of that stuff. Not a platform for any serious mods at all IMHO. And yet the Civics hold 70% of their resale value after a few years, while half your Impreza investment is gone in the same time!!! ![]() But hey, I'm sure your wife will love it as much as my g/f does, so congrats on the new car! All things considered they are good value for the money (the stock Alpine stereo is head and shoulders above the Impreza's, for instance). Just not my personal cup of tea...
