Default What tires?

First off, I would have done a search, but its down. I have 225 45 17's right now on Rota's. I have a flat tire and I need to get new tires. I need a recommendation for some good street tires. No Autoxing yet, just on-ramp fun.

Thanks!

Nick

Falken Azenis. Best street/autoX tire for the money. Hands down. The SCCA National Champs in all the street tire classes will agree.

Toyo T1-s's are supposed to be a better tyre than the azenis. Azenis are a good cheap auto-x tyre, but after a lot of miles the compound changes making them dirt, or so i was told.

Had azenis on my car and have driven a wrx with Toyo-T1's. As far as grip goes, there is no comparison..the azenis were grippier, but they are LOUD AS HELL!!! If the noise doesn't bother you then go for it. I now have S-02's which are about 95% as sticky as the azenis but much quieter. If you've got the cash I would go for S-03's (drove an S4 with them) but they are pricey. In my opinion they offer the best of everything. As grippy as azenis, but much quieter. The azenis lasted me about 12K miles with no track events or autocrossing. The S-02's seem to have a longer treadlife than azenis. Another good tire are the Goodyear GS-D3's which from what I have read may even be better than S-03's.

i dont know if the azenis vs. t1s is a good comparison.
azenis grip incredibly, but wear fast, are loud, hate the rain...
t1s grip good, have a high tread wear, and are okay in the rain...
so, for a street tire, i'd say the toyos are pretty dern good.

Goodyear Eagle F-1 GS- D3's or Michelin Pilot PS2's. I think the PS's are a little lighter. Also wider at the tread.
