Default I finally see what Ice-T was talking about...

"Cop-Killa" is exactly what I feel like doing. Why do you ask?? Oh, I'll tell you. Today, on my way to the driving range there was a construction area. It went from 45mph to 35mph. I had no one in front of me, so of course I was doing 55mph... I get pulled over and get a ticket for doing 55 in a 35 while construction workers were present. I'm not denying any of this, it just sucks. So, what is the cost of my ticket? $355.50...!!!!!!!!! Plus, I'm only 17 and my parents are going to kill me when they get home in 5hrs...

So, just thought I'd post to make sure everyone knows that dinner tonight is gonna suck.

Word ^^

In CT speeding through construction zones can actually get you _jail time_.
IBserious.

Never ever speed through a construction zone regardless of what traffic may look like.
Imagine your office being in the middle of a highway/road...thats how it is for the construction zone guys. Give them some respect and slow down for the 15 to 90 seconds that you'll be driving through their work zone.

You deserved the ticket and the cop is just doing his job enforcing a basic and general rule of the road.

Live and learn.
Welcome to driving and being safe.

In Fl., cops disguise themselves as construction workers and then fine you double because , of course, there are "construction workers" present.

So, you were driving 20 mph over in a construction zone and you're pissed you got a ticket? And to top it off, you're making idle threats against the cops that gave you the ticket. Brilliant. We have a real winner here, folks.

55 in a 35 with construction workers present (or anyone for that matter) and you're mad at the cop? With about 1 year of driving experience under your belt? ***?

OMG that sucks.... I ****ing hate it when those pigs pull me over for speeding when I know I'm being safe and I'm just having fun. Speed laws are such ****ing bull****. All roads should be like that Autobahn thing in Germany. I mean I hate Nazis but that thing was a good idea. I shouldn't get in trouble for what I'm doing, even though it's blatantly illegal unless I get in an accident or kill somebody, right? What I hate even more is when I modify my car, knowing that it voids my warranty, then I take it to the dealership to get it serviced and they give me a bill. I'm like no ****ers, I have a warranty and I deserve to have this work covered even though I changed parts on the car that could effect the cause of the problem. Next time I'm gonna turn my car back to stock before I take it in for service so I can sucker those ass-clowns into paying for something I ****ed up. What also sucks is when you get tickets for not having Cats on your car.... so what if I'm breaking the law. The cop should do his real job and go eat donuts or something. They wanted cats on my car so now I have hello-kitty stickers on my mirror (like the piggies) so I can tell those ****sticks to **** off when they pull me over for cats. Worst ****ing day of my life I'm telling you. Ice-T was so right. I'm gonna go gangsta and front now.

You have no idea what Ice-T was talking about. I've watched the interviews and such about him and specifically when this record came about more than once. His attitude that he was trying to express was he felt as if folks were being killed for no reason; just because cops had the ability, i.e. a gun and a badge. His song was aimed at cops because of the perceived injustice and he wanted to express how he felt about that; firing back via a song about firing back.

Did a cop point a gun at you? Try to shoot you or your family? Were you unrightfully targeted or profiled?

No, your predicament is far simpler. You were speeding as folks commonly do, however you picked a poor time and way to do it and you did it in front of a police officer. Your thought about wanting to follow the title of his song is shortsighted, immature, and rather pathetic at best.

I cannot for the life of me understand why you are upset at the consequences of your own actions. One cannot learn boundaries if there are no consequences of ones actions.

You are quite deserving of your punishment as it is fair and appropriate. Your inexperienced mind just gained a bit of experience. Perhaps you will learn from your mistake and better yet serve as a model for others to learn from your mistake.

Hey,

I hope what you get out of this is the understanding of a few rules and a good life lesson. A lot of people on here are talking big like they never made a mistake when they were your age. I'm 27 and I know that 10 years ago I did some pretty stupid **** in my car too.

Just look at this as a harsh, but definate slap in the face from reality. You won't get caught everytime you speed, but keep in mind that it can happen at any time. If you notice you're going 55 in 35, remember this and say "is another ticket worth it?". And man, NEVER speed in construction zones!!! Traffic fines double in construction zones, and there are people present that you can't see maybe about to do something stupid and walk out from behind a peice of equipment, imagine if you hit someone and hurt them, and the cops found out you were going 20 over? You'd be SCREWED.

This is the kind of things you need to think about, take it from me. I've been where you are and my insurance was REDICULOUS from 17-24 because I drove like an ass and got tickets. Next come the accidents, just stop the chain of events right now by learning how to drive more carfully.

Peace.
-T

edit: Oh, but I do have to comment on your 'Cop Killer' statment. I mean come on, you don't honestly belive that the officer was doing something bad to you do you? He was just doing his job and he was doing it perfectly within the confines of non-harassment. If you were going 5 over and he pulled you over and gave you a hard time plus a double traffic ticket fine in a construction zone you could be upset at him (not enough to wish him dead or even make that comment) but I mean 20 OVER the limit??? Come on, you were in the wrong man, just suck it up and learn from it.

Subystud,

You are a Suby jackace. You should be enjoying your priveledged life, not bitching to the OT board about what will happen when mommy & daddy get home. I hope your dinner sucks, I hope your parents beat you with a belt, I hope they ground you, and take away your keys.

20mph over the limit in a construction zone? You are a power tool.

I know a highway worker who's on disability for life because he got hit by a driver just like you. My buddy got thrown 10ft up in the air, 20ft. sideways, and about 20ft. down off the elevated highway section he was working on. He went through 8 months of surgeries & phys. therapy before he could walk again, and will have to use a cane for the rest of his life. He's 26!

Cliffs notes: You are a power tool.

ICE-t went to my high school in upper middle class NJ as suburban as suburbia can get. all of his gang'sta ness is as fake as my sympathy for this assclown. I really feel for that cop. If someone made idle threats on my life for doing my job.. i'd have to switch careers.
