Default Input needed - Your thoughts on my new car project.

Well, I need some thoughts on my new car project. I'm looking for ideas and questions to help me think of stuff I have not.

Here is what I got:

Chassis - 1984 Porsche 944. Good shape w/ zero rust. 80,000 miles on chassis
Engine - 1996 Cadillac Northstar V8 w/ 12,000 miles & ~300hp.

The plan:

Strip, seam weld, SCCA cage the chassis. All out race car w/ stripped interior, custom dash, electrics. Lightweight is the name of the game here.
Engine will be run with custom EFI setup from sand-rail guys and tuned towards the reliability end of the spectrum. Basically I will keep nothing Porsche besides the shell, braking system, suspension and transaxle.

Hopefully this can be done relatively "cheap". I've got 1000 dollars in the project so far. I have built a timeline, equipment list and resource allocation lists in Microsoft Project to help me get an idea of what needs to be done and what needs to be bought. I'm looking for some brainstorm ideas from the Otters so I can be sure I have 95% of the stuff thought of before I get rolling full steam. Thanks for your help!

If you have Northstar specific questions I can forward them to my uncle who works for GM and designed the Northstar back then. PM me if you need anything
