Default Removing the CD Player

I've searched high and low and can't find any info on how to remove the CD player. I need to get behind it to hard wire my XM Radio unit with FM modulator.

I've read some instructs on getting the unit it out in an WRX starting with taking out the cup holder and unscrewing a couple of screws. As Baja-nicks know, there's no cup holder on the dash.

I have taken mine off a couple of times and here is a short write up. Don't have picteres thouth:
- the plastic around the shifter will pop up with some vertical pressure and the pull out.
- Take the coin (and i guess some use it for ashes as well) out
- there are 2 screws that hold the rest of the face and the guides for the coin tray that need to be removed, this area is extreamly tight so a 90 degree screw driver is needed.
- There are 2 screws to remove the tray under that
- The face will then "pop" off after that. Just takes some leverage.

that is it

From subaruparts web page look at the installation guide for the alarm system. The CD/CC module has to be removed to install the alarm system. Just stop after the module is removed. Look here .

That's excellent! Much appreciated for the tip. Now why didn't think of that?

I'm confused, I have an 05 as well and have no clue how to take off the center piece as I want to replace the radio. Anyone?

PULL HARD LOL. If you have to use a screw driver put some cloth around it.

Eventually you'll have it spilling its guts like mine did.
