Default FS, MA: Moving sale, before Aug. 1st!

Moving to Boston and I would like to clear these few things out before I do:

USDM STi front seats. Excellent condition. Complete except for seat belt buckles, and I could include those if you really wanted. SOLD! For $600.

Custom catback exhaust. 2-1/2 piping with a glass back muffler. Great shape, sounds great too. Make offer, MUST GO!

4 Toyo t1-s, 235/40-17. 4-5mm tread, one has a small metal sliver in the tread that can be patched (didn't even notice a leak before they were taken off). Perfect for somebody to tear up auto-x'ing on for a season. Make offer - CHEAP, FREE...?

thanks,

Kevin

EDIT: Nevermind, I misread the tire size.

Can you take pictures of the tread depth and the metal sliver situation?

Will the tires fit on 17 in rota battles on a 02 WRX? I have 225/45's on there now and a second set for the track may be nice.

Thanks,
jason

The tires fit fine on a 17x7.5 wheel, they look just like a 225/45, but are a hair shorter, like 24.3 ish outer diameter. The sliver is all the way through the carcass, and less than 1 mm in diameter, as I recall. It's still in there, I'll have to look. There was also a nail that went into one of the shoulder lugs, but it did not penetrait the carcass, it has been pulled out. I can take pics.

These are the tires that were on the rota attacks that were sold to a member last year, I was not aware of the damage. There was a nail in the shoulder, he demanded a refund on the tires. However, it was not an actual puncture. The sliver in the center of the tread was not noticed until the tires came off.

IIRC he demanded a refund because he took the tires to sears and they said they (it) couldnt be repaired. But I might be wrong as usual.

Good deal on the seats though.

I was there in person when they were taken off. There was no puncture, just a nail in the shoulder. It did not need repair. He still demanded a refund. I was very pissed and almost didn't give it to him, but eventually did.

Every story has two points of view. That's how it went down tho. I was *very upset* about having to refund, since it wasn't a puncture. The dumbasses at sears had already dismounted the tires, I didn't think to stop them because I was inspecting the tire in question. I was extremely close to just taking off on him - I could have just booked it at one point while he was in back. Then I decided to screw with him, pretend I was going to leave on him - if i have to pay up for something I think is total BS, I like to get my pound of flesh. Plus I had to leave work and use 2+ hours PTO. I got screwed, you buddy made out.

Is there really any reason to travel this "tire sale" road again. Obviously there seems to be quite a bit of confusion on both sides of the story. Maybe the buyer was mis-informed by Sears. It happens. I know if I was a buyer and was told a tire was no good by a professional (be it Sears or not) I'd probably want a refund. Not taking sides, just a point of view.

Anyway, it seems to me that this "discussion" is pointless, since that previous sale is over with and you're now reselling the tires with a much more accurate description of the condition than before.

My .02 cents

Not trying to put one over on anybody. They are how they are. When they were sold originally, on a set of rotas, I thought they were fine, I never had a leak. The buyer had a chance to inspect them in person. I am much more careful about tires now, I inspect them regularly.

If the EVO hadn't come with three sets of tires.. I'd make you an offer.

hnd-kla how the hell can you read this and not say anything? haha.

A tire professional told you guys that the tire was no fixable. Period. Of course he will want a refund. And you almost didn't give it to him? No, you almost lost your conscience... You didn't decide anything, it was decided for you.

I think he was going to bail till he saw that hnd-kla wasnt gonna let it happen.
He drove over a huge curb (in a BMW) trying to get out of the parking lot cause hnd-kla was standing in front of his car as he tried to drive away.

thats a small part of the story.

hey i'm pretty interested in those tires if you still have them.. i have a set of 17" prodrive p1's with no tires and i'm running steel wheels/re92's for the summer.. it sounds like those toyo's would fit no problem, ya? i've got a friend with a shop who could probably patch the bunk tire... where are you located? i could come pick them up this weekend..

edit: reading the thread.. realizing that i'm an idiot..

Sorry, I'm keeping the tires. I'll put them on when I burn through my current pair.
