Not to hijack, but the '03 and '04 2.0 WRX uses the 080 filter as well.

How 'bout a 16546AA080 special?

Gotcha.

I talked with some folks at Subaru about this. It seems that they now say the 15208AA080 filters are meant to be used for all the turbo vehicles. The 060 filter will work with the 2.0 turbo engines, but apparently they've made this change to make it easier to get the filter on/off.

That being said, I will have to work up some prices on the 080 filters. And since it's 2pm, order cutoff time. Maybe we'll work up a special on those next Friday.

They changed it about a year ago.

02 WRX gets the 060... ALL 03+ turbo vehicles get the 080. The TSB states it has to do with heat from the manifold or something.

I don't really see how much of a difference the height can really make - the filter's still in the same general area...

No, actually they are now saying (as I posted above) that ALL turbo'd engines should be using the 080 filter.

Oh, cool. That's new. I wondered when they'd get around to it.

Ha, the 080 filter is the same kind that comes stock on a Suzuki Hayabusa.

The smaller filter(080) is supposed to clear the oil cooler lines that go the opposite way on the 'new' turbo cars(STi, XT)...or so I had thought I had read somewhere....or was it a new OEM manufacturer....one or the other....
