Default Slight problem diagnosing head color. Need Help.

I have a few pics of my heads after disassembling my block. One head came out with pretty much black valves and the other on came out with an orange rust looking color. I was hoping one of you 'Gurus' out there could let me know what the problem is. Thanks.

Setup

I have a VF22, JE 8.5 compression pistons, pauter rods, modified 565cc STI pinks, Aeromotive RRFPR, and an Autronic ECU.

that is very odd, did you blow out a headgasket? did the car sit for a prolonged amount of time?

This is after 1300 miles of being freshly installed and cleaned up. The head gaskets check out 'OK' and I compression tested and all cylinders came out to 130. I was having a serious problem with oil burning, but have no idea where that was going. No external leaks and always smoke out the exhaust under load.

I just took the pictures this evening, but the heads look exactly the same as they did the day I pulled the motor. I need to figure out what is making that strange color.

Also, my car was running excellent before I had to tear it down. I busted a snapring on cylinder 2 tuning 18lbs and the wristpin was hitting the cylinder bore.

hmm, odd, oil doesnt cause that color. But the oil out the exhaust would have to do with the scored cylinder walls, unless it was happening before that?
