Default If you absolutely have to go to the dealer for service, which one?

This is somewhat of a crosspost, but not a lot of traffic in service/maintainence forum.

I cannot renew my registration until I take my car in for Recall #WWF89 (its an air/fuel ratio deal) and show DMV the papers.

I dont want to get sweated for my Cobb CAI, where should I go? The dealers within reasonable drive are:
Santa Monica
Big Valley (Van Nuys)
Timmons (Long Beach)
South Coast (Costa Mesa)
Renick (Fullerton)
Irvine
Thousand Oaks

It's unanimous! Go South Coast! Chris has always taken good care of me, & we all know I'm in love with Ferdie! What a hunk!?

Just don't go to SM. They suck really genuinely bad. They are stupid. And slow. I know my car better than they do.

I haven't had the best experience with Irvine. I'd say Southcoast.

That said, a friend of mine brought in his '02 RS and had some serious oversights occur. He had his clutch/flywheel replaced to eliminate shudder. A day later his car was spewing CELs like nobody's business. Turns out they forgot to properly connect a coil pack. Not a problem. The next day his electrical goes out. Alternator was loose, no problem. Not their fault. They put it back in place and replace a worn belt. Later that day he loses power steering in the middle of a turn. Oops, they didn't seat the belts right. Fix that, the car seems to be fine.

At least this is the story he gave me.

So I blindly recommend them anyways.

take off the cai, AND go to south coast, that way you are pretty much guaranteed no hassle with good service. it cant be any harder than a catback or anything.

They didn't even open my hood when I had the O2 sensor recall performed. In any case, how much warranty period is left on a 2001?

well the 3/36 warranty is long gone.

But if they change something (under recall) and it borks, I dont need the intake to be an issue so I have to pay for the second one.

Big Valley because Sierra sucks and Irvine is too damn far (even though I bought my car there).

Irvine Subaru if you can get Don to work on your car. Always request it. But I'm sure there are competent mechanics there too, it's just that we go way back and he's the only one I trust at the moment. But now that I've moved closer to South Coast...I'll be seeing more of them.

Go to Santa Monica and ask for Jack Martz, tell him I sent you and he will take care of you.
