Default License plate cover question

sorry maybe this should be in off topic but ive never been brave enough to venture down there. I seen a car at my local race track that had a clear cover over the license plate. When you stand directly behind the car you can read the plate clear as day, when you stand off to the side of the plate it blurs the plate out. Does anyone know where i can purchase one of these?
Thanks for the info
Greg

Not sure off-hand, but it shouldn't be too hard to find on the internet. Just be aware that they're illegal in most states, since their sole purpose is to try to avoid photo radar and red light cameras.

This spray-on application is probably better for avoiding in-person hassle from Mr. John Q. Law.

just a heads up, something you probably know already, is that these are illegal.

in the past it hasn't been too big of a deal but recently I know that cops are becoming less tolerant of these things.

I suggest looking into this.

I like how they use PA plates as the example.

Do you know for sure that they're illegal? I searched google and all I could come up with is a law in Texas that prohibits coatings or coverings that "distort angular visibilty or dectability."

Not sure about other states, but in NY, even the dealer frames "technically" illegal. NY State law prohibits anything that will cover any part of a license plate, whether or not the plate can be seen through it.
