Default Mt. Baker Cruise In Order?

I love the drive to Mt Baker, especially when its ski season. During the summer, however, when the snow melts, you can drive up further past the ski area for some stunning views, especially if you go at sunset.. I just caught the end of it the other day, when I drove up there with my friend in his new 240sx.

We discovered a small crack in my friends radiator after driving furiously.

I think it would be great to get a group together at some point to do this drive( at a reasonable speed) The problem is, however, that the last 13 miles are riddled with construction "speedbumps" which are a major pain. But for those of you who have never been up there, It doesn't get much better.

I love that road, I would do it if I lived closer to Bellingham. And if I still had my insurance. I made it from deming to Mt.baker parking lot in 25 mins once in my dads denali xl, with light snow on the road. Craziest drive ive ever done.

My friends brother forgot his snowboard and i wanted to get back up there so no one would steal it, plus i had a dislocated sholder, and we needed to get to dinner with my friend before he left for 2 years to austrailia, so i was kinda in a hurry. But yeah things like that made me have the driving record i do. I have calmed down now, i couldnt hang on th Oly cruise, I let my gf drive through the twistys.

I'd love to do a drive. Maybe in the next few weeks? Either way, if I can make it, I'll be there!

Yeah, that's about right.

Organize it and I'll see if I can get some of the Vancouver guys to come out. Especially for those in the Fraser Valley, Mt. Baker is not far at all...

Prodriverex, I'll be organizing this. Mt baker is in Washington, west of bellingham, maybee 45minutes or so.

It sounds like plenty of people are interested. Should we do this before or after the west coast subaru show, I guess it probably doesn't matter.

Two things, like I mentioned, the last 13 miles have construction. Pretty much it is like having periodic speedbumps. So for the sake of our cars, this portion should be taken slowly. Also, for the best experience, I would like to get to the top at sunset, but this would mean getting back really late. Maybee a bad idea.

questions, comments, ideas?

I've been waiting for a reason to make it up to Bellingham again, haven't been in months.
Depending on dates and times I'd like to go.

Ahhhh, yes the Mt. Baker drive. The mountain that I ended the life of my Toyota 4Runner on. After a long day of snowboarding 8 hrs worth. I must have tired myself out too much, cuz I fell asleep while driving back down the mountain. It launched off the upper side of the mountain half a barrel roll, and then upside down in the ditch. I'm happy to still be alive. But, fill me with caffeine and I'll bring the RS, sounds like fun!
