I'm debating on switching out my stock TS seats for something more supportive / sports feeling. The TS seats are SOOOOOO comfy, but when I take corners fast I end up sitting in the passenger seat.
I'm trying to gather some opinions on the most comfy / supportive stock seats. If I can't find what I like I'll look into some aftermarket ones. I've sat in WRX Seats and they are awesome, I'd love to find a set of 2004 WRX Seats, but they are hard to find. So my choices right now are find some 02/03 WRX Seats for cheap or buy my friends 2004 STi seats off of him. He HATES the STi seats so I'm scared to even think about it. What do you guys think is the best seat out there from the Impreza line-up?

if you want fit. i would try getting aftermarket.
like recarro with adjustable back those should be comfortable.. as well as hold you in your seat.. you can upgrade to 4 point seat belt to hold you in as well.. personally i have the 2005 wrx seat.. and they are very comfortable as well with extra back support.. |

aren't the 04 TS seats the same as the 02/03 WRX seats? (i know the 04 RS seats are)
the 04 STi seats are a little wide. my preference is the 04 WRX seats but they're just as wide as the 04 STi ones. |

Nope, the TS seats are much less supportive then the RS / WRX ones, less back and side bolstering.

Your too skinny for the STI seats, your gonna hate em just like Cliff(I assume that's who's STI seats you are referring to) hates them. The 03 wrx seats are the best of the oem seats. If you can afford it, go with Recaro Speeds(New SRD's). If you liked Chris's red SRD's those would be perfect.

I liked Chris' seats, but they would be too extreme for daily driving, it felt like I was being hugged really hard

Have you thought about removing some of the center foam in the TS seats? In my other car, I removed about 2 inches of foam from the seat bottom and about 1.5 inches of foam from the seat back. I didn't touch the bolsters. As a result, I have seats that are still comfortable, but are almost as deep as race seats. I did it for clearance for my head, but it could be done for more side support.

I switched from 02 wrx seats to sti seats. I wasn't impressed till I did the bolstering mod, now they hold my fat ass perfectly.

the STI are too wide and too hard. The 02 WRX were tighter and softer, more cushioned.

for the price, I would say get some wrx seats. people are usually selling them for around 200-300. not as supportive as recaro, sparco or the like but much much cheaper.
I have an 03' TS and had the same problem. when I upgraded the suspension, it felt like I was gonna fall out of the seats around turns. I ended up getting a great deal on some 04' STI seats and it made a world of difference. |

As many of the forum mentioned. WRX is cheap, and it will do the trick(02 lowback and the 03 high). Sti ver.8 seats are too wide. Sti ver. 7 is prefect. However, after riding with an Evo 8 in a auto x event. Now, I'm really looking for the very rare sti Recaro seats. So far, I use a 3 pt harness in 02wrx stock seats, and it's fine. If you are going that fast, it's not the seat you should be looking for, it's a harness that you need, which is probably the most cost effective way to hold you in.
