Post Kumho 225/45/16 fit on GC/AGX

This post is my report on how the Kumhos fit on a lowered car and I will not go into how well they stick since thats been covered many times...

I just got Kumho 712's (225/46/16) mounted on my stock rims. I'm running the Ground Control with AGXs at about 1" lowered. No rubbing so far, took some corners really hard to test the tires and didn't get any rubbing. The place scared me the most is the inside of the tire. Right now I suspect there's about 2 credit card worth of space between the tire and the strut body. The spring perches are of no problem because of the reduced diameter of the tire. The tires seem like they might rub against the fender under some extreme loads but I think removing the rubber protector off the fender might fix that. If not then a slight rolling of the fender should.

There's an autocross this Saturday and I will post about it if I experience any rubbing then...

Wow, that 5% makes quite a difference. My 225/50-16 V700 do rub in the rear (I have a similar setup in the suspension as well AGX/GC lowered an inch or so, but probably a different spring rate) and are auful close to the spring perch on the rear struts. So close that there are marks on the perch from the pebbles that the tires picked up.
