I have the Whiteline antilift/caster kit KCA319 for Subaru Impreza. I also am installing the Aluminum control arm that is in the attached picture.
I see in the installation instructions it says: "Note: STi use forged control arms and have a remountable flange face washer that must be retained. Using STi arms on other models is possible only if face washer is used." I don't know if the control arms I have are STi or not, but they are aluminum forged. There is no remountable (whatever that means, removable? ) face washer. Do I need this washer with the arms in the picture? If so, where can I get this washer? what does this washer look like. If I need the washer, I need it in a hurry. Thanks, Dave

Hi there,
I run the arms with ALK.. ![]() I dont know of any aftermarket alloy arms.. so I'll assume they are STI items. The re-usable face washer is just a big fookin washer that goes over the back bolt that goes into the ALK mount. You dont have any other parts than just the arms ? Looks like you are missing it then ![]() J. |

Jay, is the washer anything special? I mean, will a quality AN washer of appropriate dimensions work for this purpose?

Here is a picture of the washer I am missing. (thanks to Jim Gurieff @ Whiteline AU)
If this is just a flat washer I can just go buy a washer and alter the diameter. Anyone have the dimensions? |

If thats a picture of the ALK then that yellow thing you're pointing to is not the washer...its the urethane bushing...the washer is hidden between the bushing and the arm...and its huge...

He obviously knows what he needs, and it's the washer, not the damn bushing. Did you even read the whole thread? Give the guy some credit!

No problem guys, I just got thru fabricating the two washers 60mm O.D. forget the I.D. $1 of materials.
Oh by the way, Saw Jai, I think you should make an apointment with the eye doctor to crank up the prescription. The washer is not hidden just the same color as the arm. |
