Pardon me if I'm wrong, but I am pretty sure that the '04-'05 model does NOT have a projector housing for the low beam (like the '02-'03 does).

Jamie,

Just an unrelated question. I don't suppose you have a full-car shot of that white GC, do you?

Someday I'll have white Morettes and the V6 grille like that, so I'd like to see a future snapshot of myself.

adesso: HIDs are high intensity discharge bulbs that burn cooler and YES brighter. But a projector is a housing used for halogen or HID bulbs. Where as some head lights are reflectors that cause large amounts of glare to on coming traffic. the projector does just that it projects the beam on the road instead of in useless rays of direction. Thus i restate again that the statement before about them not being projectors for the 04-05...they should be.

What lenses are the 04/05 lights? I remember my RS Morettes used standard Cibie 5 3/4 round H4 lenses and a slightly modified Cibie Tango for the "high beam" lens. Do the 04/05 sets use a standard lens, and have you dismantled a set to make sure?

From all the pictures I have seen the 04/05s are complex reflector lenses, which is fine by me as there's less to go wrong with them, and hopefully the lenses are not some oddball thing that are a pain to replace (kind of the purpose of Morettes in the first place). I wish they were normal reflectors like the old kits, though.

You can't really compare the durability, it's an apples to oranges comparison. The lenses on the morettes are glass, the stock lights have a big plastic lens. I've had to replace a Morette projector canister already from a huge rock on my way to the ski hill, since then I've put 3mm stongard on the lenses and have had no problems.

Valeo is just a lamp manufacturer, they're reflector lenses. They aren't HID, I've seen the '04+ lights in person. If they were, they'd be advertised as HID.

Jamie, I'm pretty sure the lights I saw at the shop for the 04s were reflectors, the web site says they're projector low beams
