Default Turbo 3.3

I am looking at purchasing a swapped 95 impreza l that has the eg33 swap from a 92 svx. My question is how hard is it to turbo at about 7 psi? Or is it even possible without spending more than 1k. I do have turbo and intercooler and all piping and I do have the ability to get custom up and down pipe made. Welding buddy owes me. I have no engine management at all but I'm totally okay with redneck ing it.

FMU adjustable from 4:1-12:1 and target your A/F around 11's at WOT and you should be golden with an adjustable wastegate 3-11psi. No need emanagement with FMU's!

Someone local to me did an eg33 swap into an impreza wagon - he had a full fmic, at least 3" tbe, & custom uppipe made for a gt45r turbo (pretty sure one of my buddies tabbed all of the parts for the local guy) running a haltech ecu.

I've seen pics of the setup by the owner who is a friend of some of my friends - they say the setup looks insane but I've never seen / rode in the car myself.

That said a gt45 on a eg33 has the potential for 800-1000hp.

The guy says boost will be kept low (20psi or less), problem is the tranny is stock...

I broke my stock tranny within 3weeks of boost (no more second gear) so I suspect the power output is nothing near its potential.

Fmu = no problem boost, but you may run out of fuel pump ( walbro 255hphv is mandatory on fmu setups) at around 5 psi if you run a turbo that will max out a 3.3l engine so I'd suggest running a low psi WG spring & use a boost controller to raise boost ( you can only increase boost with a boost controller you cannot run boost lower than the WG spring levels).

You may want to run a t4 sized compressor with a turbine housing big enough for the h6 so you do not run out of fuel as soon as you hit boost.
I'd run an s400 turbo personally, but I've played & built these in the past & tune a car that made about 732whp on a 1.3l rotary using a 75mm s400 turbo.
